Third immersion

For this immersion we have been looking at signs and graphic designs. We are looking at how there were lots of graphic designs in the walls of the secondary school while our school lacks many. So what we did was we looked at artists and checked out their graphic design works and we took some ideas to draw like a prototype of a design based on school values but in a style of the artist that we researched about.

second immersion

For this immersion we designed a part of the playground on tinkercad and some of us got to 3d print it off. We had to measure it in millimeters to see if it fitted the printer and we all learnt a thing or two about 3d printing and tinkercad.

for immersion this time we are working on planning and designing a playground. first we surveyed people for playground equipment and what they like and don't like, then we have been to the playgrounds outside of the school and have looked at the build and the equipment. Then we have either used tinkercad, Sketchup, or pencil and paper to design our playground.

projects thingy pt 2 (dun dun dun)

Last time in the projects we had everything all filmed and all but now we can't get to the phone we used to record the experiment. So we had to do everything again, but I think this time we did a better job. Now that we finished filming we are now editing.

Today me and Cole has started filming our science experiment and it turned out pretty good. We had help from Nicole and Helen and the absorbing water with fire experiment really worked. First, it wasn't doing anything but after the fire went out the water rapidly absorbed into the cup. The next step for us is to have finished filming the rest of the experiment and editing it.

graphic design thingy

so last friday we did this graphic design thing with nicole where she taught us about colours and which colours look good and work with each other. we also learnt about fonts and how some fonts don't work with others. we had to find a quote for the graphic design we were doing and of course i chose some doctor who quotes because they are the best quotes in all of time and space. then i sorta messed with the canva website until i found the font and the colours i wanted and needed then it sorta looked like this:

 so then i thought it was kinda fun so i did this other one: 

I have finally finished my Sketchup model, but I wished I had more time. if it wasn't for that glitch i could've done so much more. But after it got wibbly wobbly I quickly got it finished, but there could be things that i could still improve. Anyways... sketchup had been fun and I enjoyed it.

my sketchup glitch got fixed!

What was really annoying was that there was this glitch on my Sketchup model. So whenever I zoom into my house, it disappears and I get zoomed out really far away. i tried searching up videos and articles about fixing this glitch but none of them worked. although there was a comment on this one video which said that sometimes there is an object in the sketchup model that is really far away from the centre so far that it causes it to glitch. the person commented that to fix this i had to press select all then click my house to unselect it then pressing delete but unfortunatly it didn't work for me. so then i zoomed out super far away from my house then tried holding onto the trackpad and moving the curser selecting everything expect my house manually then pressing delete and hoped it would work. and it did. when i:) zoomed back into my house it was all fixed. no dissapearing thingy and no weired zooming glitch. so yeah. that was how i fixed my sketchup glitch.

Sketchup

Right now in maths we have been creating a dream house in this thing called sketchup which is really fun but hard at the same time. you can basicly design anything you like but many things will be difficult. seeing as this is my first time using sketchup this is my house (it's not very good).

I have read a text about Kawakawa plants and how it can be used as a medicine. It can treat toothaches, stomach pains, bruises, nettle strings, and a lot of other things. The Kawakawa is a New Zealand native plant and it is a traditional Maori medicine. Kawakawa can be made into tea and it can restore your health and also maintain it as well.

today i found out how to find the area of a triangle in a maths buddy task.

projects

today we had presented out projects to the class where we had a cartoon about life of a cocoa farm slave child. we had to rush a bit and two people didn't make it to the presentation because one person was sick and one had to go to the dentist. all the comments were positive although we didn't have time to put it all in pen.

Energy thingy

Today we started learning about energy and we filled in a google slide about it. this time our immersion will be based around energy and i hope it will be fun.
